Nothing would make me happier than someone doing this to work that I've made. It's not quite an homage but it's pretty close. It's someone admitting that they found something they liked in a piece of work and wanting to incorporate it into something they've made. It's astonishing to think how much work must have gone into stitching this video/track together.
Having this happen or having a parody of the ad show up in a show/movie is a pretty strong indicator that the work is working.
