This video helps crack part of the code of what makes Tarantino's films feel more like real life. His films are, of course, nothing like real life. They are over-everythinged. But they are grounded in truths about humanity. Things he and the actors seem to understand on a level better than other films.
It also shines a light on the way people use food in everyday life. While some argue that food is simply sustenance it can be so much more than that. Letting that come through on screen (or in a commercial, perhaps) gives a feeling of familiarity to the work and the characters.
Really loved learning from this video.
